All hail the mighty Gods of Mochilla for bringing this to fruition.  Things like this give me chills.  Recently, the crew of horn-toting biological brothers known as the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble and viola villain Miguel Atwood-Ferguson collabo’ed at a special show in the confines of Los Angeles’ Echoplex.  The song?  A special arrangement of Rene Costy’s “Scrabble.”  Many hip-hop heads know this as the original sample for one of J Dilla’s most celebrated tunes, “F*ck the Police.”  Just sit back and watch.  Shouts to The Sounds of VTech as well.

I’m kinda biased cuz I know the guy.  But to be 100% objective, Von Pea is one of the illest emcees I know.  And if you don’t believe me or are daft enough to not be jockin’ Tanya Morgan by now, then here’s yet another wake up call. 

On Tuesday, November 11th, Von will be releasing his first mixtape in a long-ass time, entitled The Further Adventures of Von Pea.  Nothing but Madlib beats jacked for your listening pleasure.  Peep the tracklist below (I CAN’T WAIT to hear that joint w/ Elucid & Median).  And after that, I left y’all a link to a quick, sloppy snippet mix of what you can expect on 11/11.  Not to sound cliche, but Brooklyn…stand up.

Sometimes I’m so glad I check my email late night.  You come across incredibly ill stuff like the following and lose your mind.  Ladies and gents, from the forthcoming WLIB: King of the Wigflip album, the very last installation of the Beat Generation series on the BBE label (set to drop on September 30th), I present to you a Madlib track that made me scrunch my face up so ugly just previous to making this post.  And Guilty just tore…man, I don’t think I even have to explain this any further.

A video for, “Eat To Live,” one of my top three songs off of Talib Kweli‘s Eardrum album (Madlib produced the HELL out of this).  Yeah it came out last year.  So what.  The message in it is dope and still relevant.  I like how it is only two verses and how they are different interpretations of the song title.  Oh and if you don’t have this album, shame on you.  It’s probably Talib’s best solo effort.  Shouts to Okayplayer.
