A quick heater from the homie Spec Boogie.  Spec takes the beat from the infectious new Q-Tip single “Gettin’ Up” and puts his own spin on the title.  Namely, bombing the streets of NYC during his graffiti days.  Big ups to Spec all day.  I hear his name is bubblin’ a little louder than usual lately.  It’s only a matter of time…

There was a time where my homie Elucid was nowhere to be found musically.  He went on a little break.  And I remember I used to bug him every time I’d see him in the street like “Where’s the new music, sir?!?”  He’d be like “It’s comin’ man.”  Fast forward to present day and now I can’t even keep up. He’s been leaking a new joint every single Wednesday for the past couple months.

Peep THIS new doozy.  According to E, this is a joint off his upcoming album entitled K.E.Y.S. with Imported Goodz on the beat (who may be making some more noise soon if I my predictions are right).  I’m amped.  I only post the heat folks.

This isn’t an exclusive or anything.  It’s just not alot of people have it.  So I guess consider it a collector’s item.  Especially all you Tanya Morgan / Lessondary nuts.  I know there’s a grip of y’all.

This was recorded around the time that TM’s critically-acclaimed debut album Moonlighting was dropping.  So it’s a little old.  And only two verses long.  I don’t know the whole back story behind this so I’m going to obvious route:  One-third of the crew, Von Pea, got a dope instrumental from Dutch producer Sir OJ.  Von said “I like this,” rhymed over it and it came out fly.  The end. 

Von says he heard someone else rhyme over the same beat after him.  I’ve never heard it.  But I’ll bet that it’s not as good as this.

The long-awaited new (and third) mixtape from Loosie Music‘s / the Lessondary’s own Spec Boogie.  This one has been done with the support of the good folks @ Digital Gravel and mixed by DJ Noumenon.  Basically this is Spec taking a bunch of tracks you wouldn’t expect an emcee to spit over (LCD Soundsystem, Portishead, Peter Bjorn & John for starters) re-appropriating them and…spittin’ over ‘em.  And doing it well, I might add.  I wouldn’t expect any less.  Spec is no slouch on the mic.  Highly suggested download.
