AB the Confidant – Prologue Vol. 1 EP

Cleveland is known for producing some of music’s most legendary and hard-working soul artists. Aaron Abernathy (aka AB for short) is no exception. He’s an accomplished producer, songwriter and composer. If you hit the live show circuit hard, you’ve probably caught him on stage accompanying the likes of Black Milk, Eric Roberson and Kindred the Family Soul. He’s in high demand and has contributed much work behind-the-scenes. And now he’s ready to flex his talent in full for anyone who is willing to lend an ear.

Peep the first in his Prologue series, a collection of experimental covers that capture a range of different styles. The one that stood out the most to me is the cover of former Bad Boy recording artists Total’s “Kissing You,” a hit R&B song from the mid ’90s originally produced / arranged by Raphael Saadiq. If that piques your interest like it did mine, feel free and download the whole damn thing below.
