VIDEO: Blitz the Ambassador – “Something To Believe”

This should be considered more of a short film than a music video, in my opinion.  There’s never anything wrong with a little truth and a dash of social commentary to snap us out of our safe thinking sometimes.  Blitz the Ambassador has had a hell of a 2010.  This summer alone he’s shared huge outdoor stages with The Roots (Prospect Park) and one of his biggest influences, Public Enemy (Central Park).  He’s been overseas and back. And probably going back again.  His straight-for-the-jugular brand of hip-hop mixed with a lush arrangement of live instrumentation has turn many a head.  And these visuals are about to have the same effect.  More on this…

Directed by Terence Nance, the film addresses the detachment we all battle, when faced with the the world’s overwhelming issues. “It’s hard to think about all the problems in the world without getting a little overwhelmed. So, a lot of times we just ignore things. I think Africa has suffered a lot because people choose to remain ignorant, rather than address the issues that are right in front of our faces,” Blitz said.
