This is not necessarily brand new but fly nonetheless. A new, young crop of Los Angeles musicians in the hip-hop genre are doing amazing these days and molding a new sound that is not typical of the region. But they don’t neglect their roots at all. They’re keeping those West coast sensibilities intact. This song (which I just ran across on Dom Kennedy’s site) is a nice example of that. Polyester the Saint (who happens to be the twin brother of J*DaVeY’s own Miss Jack Davey) decides to take the cruise control route with this breezy little number.
