The folks over at Lifenotes get the big picture. And one of soul’s best kept secrets (hopefully that won’t be the case for too much longer) has stepped up to the plate for his team. Erik Rico has crafted a six-song EP entitled The Reworks Project. He’s taken tunes from some of soul’s most treasured artists (Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Prince, Al Green, Sade and James Brown) and re-created them in his signature funky, electronic style. After hearing this, it will only be a matter of time before Erik is fully recognized as one of most innovative and diverse artists in contemporary soul.
