DJ Mitsu the Beats f/ Jose James – “Promise In Love”

Sometimes albums fly way under the radar.  Especially when they aren’t released over here in the United States.  That can be down right criminal sometimes because some of the best music I have heard in general in the past few years has been from Europe and Asia.  DJ Mitsu the Beats (an extremely well-respected Japanese DJ and producer) just released his brand new album A Word To The Wise oveseas and it a who’s who of the hip-hop and soul underground (Kev Brown, Maspyke, Black Spade and Mark de Clive-Lowe to name a few).

This was the super strong single from that album, featuring the jazzy stylings of Brooklyn’s own Jose James.  Something to let the sun shine in on during a Sunday morning and watch the horn notes play on the window sill.  At least that’s what I saw.  If you can get your hands on a copy of the full album, I recommend it highly.

NOTE: When I originally posted this, it was a song that was just floating around.  It can now be found on Jose James’ Blackmagic album, which is totally worth every penny of the $9.99 price on iTunes.
