I know a guy that goes simply by the name of Chuck P. He’s a producer and he’s pretty friggin’ good. He likes to take R&B songs, snag the vocals and produce all new beats for them. And most of the time, they sound alot better than the original. For instance, I’m not a huge Bobby Valentino fan in the least. But if THIS version of “Hands On Me” was on the radio, I’d actually turn my radio on more often. Someone point me in the direction of a dance floor where I can get my two-step on.

And then we have the beautiful Keri Hilson. Watch how Chuck totally takes the feel of this song into a whole new, welcome direction. This is just begging to get some burn in a dimly-lit lounge. Remember when music sounded full and rich and not like generic and cookie-cutter Casio electronic sounds? I think that’s the kind of sound that Chuck is trying to recapture. I’m down for that movement.

p.s. If you liked both of these, you will not be disappointed w/ the full length compilation these derive from, Chuck Tries R&B…Again. Nothing but homegrown, fresh-out-the-box remixes. He released a similar project a while back (hence the word “again” in the title) but it pales in comparison to this updated, more mature version.
