I’ve been very lax in getting this up on the site. I’m such a loser. But being that today is Christmas Eve, I figured this is probably the best day to finally post it. Personally, I am not a big fan of Christmas music at all. I think it hassomething to do with working in a music / electronics store for a year and a half and being forced to listen holiday-themed tunes non-stop from the day after Thanksgiving to Christmas. It was retail law. There are a few exceptions (“Simply Havin’ A Wonderful Christmas Time” by Paul McCartney and “Christmas In Hollis” by Run DMC for starters).
So at first I kinda shuddered when I saw this. Then I played it and proceeded to look for the nearest neck brace. Dutch producer I.N.T. chops up a bunch of Christmas classics and forgotten gems, glues ‘em back together into a compact, organized-yet-confused mix. Kind of reminds me of all the Madlib Mind Fusion mixes. If you have a somewhat hip family and can sneak this on while opening your gifts and drinking rum-spiked egg nog, I highly suggest you do. Festive cover art by the homie Deluge.
